$BTC at $78,400, are you willing to get in?
ETF saw a massive inflow of $630 million in a single day, institutions are rushing in like crazy, Morgan Stanley secretly added 286 more coins— but what about the price? From 62k in February to now 78k, up nearly 30%, but is YTD still green? No, YTD is still negative. Is this a bull return, or the last chance to escape?
First look at the surface: it’s up, but not fully up.
In the past 24 hours, BTC price fluctuated by 0.02%, at $78,367, as if unchanged. Cumulative increase of 15% since April, a strong rebound from 62k, but overall this year is still in the red. Do you think a bull market is here? Check your account—still on the way to break even.
First thing: institutions are crazy, ETF is exploding.
On May 1st, the US spot BTC ETF saw a net inflow of $630 million in a single day, setting a monthly record for 2026. BlackRock’s IBIT is like a bottomless pit sucking in money, Morgan Stanley secretly increased holdings to 2,620 BTC, worth about $62k.
Second thing: two years after the halving, supply has been eaten up.
The 2024 halving will reduce new daily miner output to only 450 BTC, worth about $78k. Meanwhile, ETF absorbs $630 million in a day—think about it, that’s enough to buy enough for miners to mine for 18 days. The supply gap is right here, why wouldn’t the price go up? Because of your panic?
Third thing: $80k is a psychological barrier and the last line of defense.
Between $78,500 and $80k, there’s a sell wall of $62k. This isn’t something retail traders can set up; it’s big players waiting for you to buy in and then dump, or are they hesitating themselves? Break through $80k, and $85-90k opens; fail to break, then retest $76k, even $73k.
On one side: institutions are buying wildly, ETF inflows are exploding, halving supply is pushing prices up.
On the other side: $80k massive sell pressure, high futures positions, Bollinger Band upper band overbought.
Key level: $78,500, the dividing line between bulls and bears.
If you’re a short-term trader: buy near current price or on a pullback to $76.5-77k, set stop-loss at $75.5k, first target to reduce at $80k, then chase after $85-90k after breakout.
If you’re a long-term investor: DCA into the $76.5k-79k range in batches. Ark Invest says BTC’s market cap could reach $16 trillion by 2030, but now it’s just over $2 trillion.
BTC is transforming from a “speculative asset” into “digital gold,” yet most people are still trading altcoins with the mindset of trading shitcoins. #美国寻求战略比特币储备 $BTC
