Recently, I've been thinking again about whether the PFP/membership system is long-term value or short-term attention... Honestly, what really keeps people around isn't how good-looking the avatar is, but whether there's something "useful" after you join the group: information advantage, resource exchange, activity thresholds, or even ongoing benefits provided by the brand. Otherwise, once the hype dies down, everyone will go back to their own chains.

This season of airdrops is even more obvious; task platforms are cracking down more and more on anti-witchcraft measures, and the points system has turned the grab-and-go crowd into something like clocking in at work. I find it quite funny (on-chain attendance checks), but I also feel a bit annoyed: costs have increased, but many "membership benefits" are still vague spiritual shareholders. Anyway, I’m currently focusing on two things: don’t let interaction costs explode, and whether benefits can be quantified. Otherwise, it’s just buying an avatar to have fun... that’s all for now.
