I just looked at the statistics for Pakistan — there are already more than 255 million people living there. That’s the fifth most populous country in the world! For comparison, that’s about 3% of the entire human population.



Interestingly, Pakistan’s population is growing quite rapidly — an average of 1.57% per year. And at the same time, the country is very young, with an average age of only 20.6 years. Such a youthful demographic usually indicates high growth potential, but also serious challenges for the economy and infrastructure.

Overall, it’s fascinating to observe how quickly demographics are changing in Asian countries. Pakistan is a good example of how the population can grow exponentially, even when it already numbers in the hundreds of millions.
