Crypto World News reported that the German automotive industry is calling for an urgent de-escalation of the tariff dispute between the United States and the European Union, and is urging both sides to immediately begin negotiations. Trump had previously said he would raise car tariffs on the EU to 25% and claimed that the EU had not fully complied with the trade agreement reached with the United States. In a Saturday email statement, HILDEGARD Müller, president of the German automotive industry association, said: “The U.S.-EU trade agreement must be jointly complied with by both sides. This also means that the EU must ultimately approve the parts it is responsible for in the agreement reached last summer.” A spokesperson said that the EU is fulfilling its commitments in accordance with standard legislative procedures and has always kept the U.S. administration fully informed. The spokesperson said that the European Commission will seek clear explanations from the U.S. side while reserving various options to protect the EU’s interests.
