You know, there's an interesting story about Elon Musk's brother that few people know about. Kimbal Musk, who is 52 years old, recently posted a rather sharp comment on X about Trump and his tariff policies. The gist was that supposedly the president introduced the largest taxes in generations, and all of this falls on the American consumer. The funny part is that he criticized not only Trump but also his brother Elon.
Elon Musk's brother has a net worth of about 700 million dollars, mainly thanks to Tesla shares (although only 0.04%). Not the biggest fortune in the family, but still substantial. Interestingly, despite the criticism, the brothers love each other very much — a typical family dynamic.
So what is their similarity? Both were born in Pretoria, they have the same square jawline, straight nose, and green eyes. Plus, both hold South African, Canadian, and American citizenship. But there is a difference — Elon Musk's brother always wears a cowboy hat; that's his signature.
Their family history isn't the most cheerful. Kimbal, along with his younger sister Tosca (who is 50), and Elon himself, experienced family violence. Their mother, Maya, eventually divorced in 1979 and later emigrated with her children to Canada and the US. There, both brothers founded a startup called Zip2, which provided business software for the internet. In 1999, they sold it to Compaq for 307 million dollars. That’s the story about Elon Musk's brother.
