I often hear the question: which is the most developed country in Africa today? Most immediately name South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Morocco, Kenya. And yes, in terms of GDP, infrastructure, and stability, they are indeed ahead.

But here’s where I notice a catch. The size of the economy is not everything. I look at these countries and realize that the truly developed country in Africa is not the one that is simply larger than others. It’s the one that is building.

Look more carefully. It’s about who controls the technologies, who invests in energy, who creates financial ecosystems, who drives innovation forward. Africa is not in decline at all, but in an active stage of reorganization. That’s a completely different story.

That’s why I am convinced: the leader of the African continent in the next 10 years will be determined not so much by current GDP, but by the ability to adapt to digital transformation. Whoever masters these tools first will set the tone.

Honestly, I am most interested in observing which of these countries will break through ahead thanks to crypto technologies and blockchain. In my opinion, this could change the entire balance of power. Some of them will definitely realize this earlier than others.

Who do you bet on? Which country, in your opinion, will make the right choice in the coming decade?
