I used to be a bit paranoid, always saying "I only look at on-chain data," and whenever the mainnet gas skyrocketed, I would immediately retreat to L2, thinking that a smooth experience is the way to go. As a result, recently, with the whole "yield stacking" of staking/sharing security, I realized that just looking at on-chain data can also be influenced by narratives: bridges going back and forth, cross-layer rollbacks, those few minutes stuck in pending, and the mindset becomes more expensive than the transaction fee...

Now I’ve found a compromise: for small amounts and frequent operations, I stick to L2, which is hassle-free; for actions involving authorization, positions, or when real security is needed, I’d rather pay a bit more gas on the mainnet as insurance. Honestly, I’m not trying to save gas; I’m trying to save regret. On-chain data is just that—data. But I also have to admit that emotions can affect reaction speed, so I’ll leave it at that for now.
