Just remembered the story of Laszlo Hanyecz that left me speechless. In 2010, he transacted 10,000 BTC just to buy 2 large pizzas. Back then, it was probably only worth $41. But now? 10,000 BTC is worth over 700 million dollars! 😭
It's crazy to think about. Laszlo Hanyecz basically gave us the most expensive lesson on opportunity cost. He didn't know Bitcoin would be this huge, so he just bought pizza. But from today's perspective, that was the most tragic decision in crypto history lol.
Interestingly, Pizza Day (May 22) has become a moment to remember how quickly crypto has evolved. From a simple pizza transaction to an asset worth hundreds of millions. Laszlo Hanyecz has actually proven that Bitcoin can be used for real transactions, not just speculation.
Now BTC is around $78K, constantly fluctuating. If I had 10,000 BTC right now? Honestly, I might just hold and not buy anything haha. But I really respect Laszlo Hanyecz because he has normalized the use of Bitcoin from the very beginning.
