Last night I was feeling impulsive again, and when the network got congested, I went on-chain to submit an order, only to find myself queuing in the mempool… You think clicking confirm is the end of it, but actually the transaction is just sitting outside, waiting for miners/packagers to pick up whoever offers the “more fragrant” fee first. My small position is like this: if I don’t add a fee, I’ll wait patiently until slippage eats me dry; if I do add one, I’m afraid of being the sucker, it’s pretty awkward.

What’s more annoying is that sometimes there’s a bunch of messy transactions in front, stuck and not moving, and your order feels like it’s caught in an elevator, whether you cancel or not, it’s uncomfortable. Anyway, I try not to get impulsive during congestion now; if I really do, I just treat it as paying tuition.

By the way, recently there’s been talk about taxes, compliance, and all that, I only glanced at it once or twice, didn’t take it seriously… until the deposit and withdrawal queue times got longer, and I realized belatedly: turns out psychological expectations can also “congest.” Let’s leave it at that for now, I’ll write a post analyzing the losses if I get wiped out someday.
