According to reports today (the 2nd) from China Datang, China’s first large-scale “electricity calculation coordination” green power direct supply project—the China Datang Zhongwei Cloud Base 500k-kilowatt photovoltaic power station—has officially been put into operation. This marks the realization of China’s “East Data West Computing” project connecting desert wind and solar power directly to digital computing power. The project is located in Zhongwei, Ningxia, and is the country’s first comprehensive new energy demonstration zone. The project consists of a 500k-kilowatt photovoltaic power station, a 1.5-million-kilowatt wind farm, and supporting energy storage devices. “Green power direct supply” allows computing power parks to use clean, low-cost, and stable electricity, which can reduce operational costs for enterprises, decrease carbon emissions, and achieve a win-win situation for both economic and ecological benefits.
