Lately, I've been debating how to choose between L2 and the mainnet, basically whether to save on gas or to have peace of mind.
L2 experience is indeed smooth, just a few clicks and it's done, but my perfectionism makes me check the bridges and contract permissions: can it be upgraded arbitrarily, are there strange callbacks, is the admin a single person?
Mainnet is expensive, but at least many things run more "honestly," for large amounts I still prefer to pay a bit more gas for peace of mind; for small, frequent interactions, I drop L2, losing money but treating it as tuition.
By the way, I saw in the group that the funding rates are extreme again, everyone is arguing about reversal or continuing to pump the bubble...
I don't follow the emotions anyway; the more outrageous the rate, the more I want to keep my leverage hand in my pocket.
The only compromise is: split the money, split the actions, don’t use the same mindset to click all the buttons.
