A while ago, I was exploring options to mine Bitcoin with a cellphone, and honestly, the market has evolved quite a bit. There are several apps that promise to make it possible, although truthfully, the reality is more complicated than it seems at first.
The first thing I found was that mining Bitcoin directly with a cellphone is practically unfeasible nowadays. The processing power is very limited, and competing against professional mining farms is almost impossible. But there are alternatives people use: cloud mining apps. A well-known exchange, for example, offers this service where you basically rent hash power instead of doing direct mining. There are also apps like StormGain that let you participate entirely from your mobile, although they need to be restarted every 4 hours, which is quite inconvenient if you want something more passive.
Another interesting option is NiceHash, which has tools to manage your mining power and calculate profitability. Security is decent if you enable two-factor authentication. Bitdeer is another platform heavily used by more serious miners, with different plans depending on how much you want to invest.
Now, is it really worth mining Bitcoin with a cellphone in 2024-2025? It depends a lot on your perspective. Some say it doesn’t make sense due to fierce competition and scam risks. Others believe it’s an accessible way to get started, especially if you expect hardware to improve in the future.
If you want to try it on Android, the process is relatively simple: download an app, create an account, set up your wallet, and you’re good to go. On iPhone, it’s more complicated due to Apple’s restrictions, so basically, you have to go for cloud mining options.
Regarding which coins are easier to mine, people report that Monero (XMR) at $385.53, Dogecoin (DOGE) at $0.11, Vertcoin, and Ravencoin (RVN) at $0.01 are more accessible than directly mining Bitcoin. But always consider the electricity cost in your area and the current market price.
The reality is that mining a full Bitcoin from a smartphone would take forever. The power is simply too limited. If you’re serious about it, better consider cloud services or wait for significant advancements in mobile technology. The important thing is to research thoroughly before investing money, read the terms of each platform carefully, and avoid making hasty decisions. The crypto space changes quickly, and apps constantly update their policies.
