According to The Financial Times, UK Reform Party leader Nigel Farage has been accused by the opposition party of having conflicts of interest. In 2024, Farage received a personal grant of 5 million pounds from crypto investor Christopher Harborne, who lives in Thailand; in May 2025, the Reform Party put forward a crypto regulation draft, promising to reduce the capital gains tax on crypto assets from 24% to 10% and proposing the establishment of a national Bitcoin reserve. Farage has admitted that he received the grant, while the Reform Party denies that policy-making is related to the donor. Currently, Farage faces allegations of violating UK House of Commons rules, and the most serious scenario could result in him being suspended from being an MP and trigger a by-election.
