Lately I’ve been a bit torn: when I use the mainnet and the gas fee spikes, I start to feel pained—clicking confirm feels like I’m burning paper for the dead; when I use L2, the experience is indeed much smoother, but the moment I run into that kind of incident where a cross-chain bridge gets hacked, my heart skips a beat. Then I start to wonder if I’m just trying to take the easy way out. Now I basically use them in layers: for large amounts or long-term holding, I stick to the mainnet; for small trials and pulling in some activity rewards, I go to L2. Either way, don’t treat “convenience” as “security.”
Also, I’ve noticed that after everyone gets spooked by abnormal oracle quotes, the community’s tacit agreement of “wait for confirmation” has only been getting stronger… I’m the same way—I’d rather move a bit slower, wait for a few more blocks, and take another look at the data sources. To put it bluntly, what I fear most isn’t slowness; it’s chaos. Slowness is something I can tolerate, but if it’s chaotic, you don’t even know whether you’re paying gas or buying a hard lesson. For now, being cautious isn’t embarrassing.
