BlockBeats News, May 2nd, according to the UK Financial Times, the Reform Party leader Nigel Farage has been accused of conflicts of interest by the opposition party. Farage received a personal donation of 5 million pounds from crypto investor Christopher Harborne, who resides in Thailand, in 2024. Subsequently, in May 2025, the Reform Party proposed a draft regulation for the crypto industry, promising to reduce the crypto transaction stamp duty from 24% to 10%, and proposed establishing a national Bitcoin reserve and cutting capital gains tax on crypto assets.

Farage admitted on Wednesday to receiving the aforementioned donation, and the Reform Party insists that policy making is unrelated to the donors. Harborne also donated an additional 12 million pounds to the Reform Party last year; crypto businessman Ben Delo also donated 4 million pounds to the party this year. Currently, Farage faces allegations of violating House of Commons rules, which could result in suspension from Parliament and trigger a by-election.
