The Yangtze River Delta Railway is expected to carry 4.18 million passengers today, with 209 additional passenger trains operating.
On the first day of the May Day holiday, the railways in the Yangtze River Delta hit a record high for the highest single-day passenger volume in history. On May 2, the Shanghai Railway Group learned that the Yangtze River Delta railways were expected to send 4.18 million passengers that day, with passenger flows continuing at a consistently high level. During the just-concluded International Labor Day holiday on May 1, the Yangtze River Delta railways sent 4.738 million passengers, setting a new record for the Shanghai Railway Group’s single-day passenger volume in history. On the second day of the “May Day” holiday, based on the launch of peak lines, the Yangtze River Delta railways planned to add 209 passenger train services running between multiple directions, including East China, Central China, and the Central Plains, as well as between places within the Yangtze River Delta region such as Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui; for organizing the relinking operation of 318 EMU trains, to meet holiday travelers’ travel needs.
