I used to really think that on-chain data was "real-time," and if the page lagged a bit, it must be my internet connection... A newbie misconception: since the transactions are on the chain, why are the balances/transaction records still a bit slow?

Now I understand that: a lot of what you see is actually processed first by indexers/Subgraphs before feeding it to the front end, and RPCs might also be rate-limited. Especially when everyone rushes to testnets for incentives and to earn points, the request volume explodes, making it easier to experience "lag." So sometimes it's not the chain stopping, but the data pipeline getting congested.

My current approach is pretty crude: if it lags, I switch to a different RPC, wait a few minutes, and then check the block explorer again—don't rush to think you did something wrong. Anyway, I don't even know if the mainnet will eventually issue tokens; for now, focus on the liquidity you can understand, and don't let page delays mess with your emotions and trading. If you make a profit, go have a coffee; if you lose... forget it, just consider it tuition.
