Does Claude directly take over Blender? AI programming crushes 3D modeling with a blow! No need to learn wiring, just open your mouth and sculpt characters!
Anthropic has just become a sponsor of Blender, and Claude Code has directly integrated Blender's API. What does this mean? In the future, creating 3D models won't require manual modeling; you can generate scenes, characters, and even animations just by chatting with AI!
1⃣ One-click to open the meridians (configure SOP):
Claude side: Open Claude Desktop -> Customize -> Connectors -> Search for “Blender” -> Click Add.
Blender side: Have Claude send you the download link for the “Blender MCP Server” plugin (or get it from GitHub). Open Blender -> Edit -> Preferences -> Add-ons -> Drag the downloaded zip in -> Be sure to check Enable.
Test: Restart Claude, then say “Create a stone in Blender.” When you see the stone appear, congratulations, the connection is successful!
2⃣ Actual effects (surprises and shocks):
Scene generation: Ask it to build a “wooden house with a fence,” and it will generate the model in seconds. Although a bit cartoonish, the structure is correct.
Image to 3D: Upload a cartoon character image and let it restore. The first version looked like a “multi-armed monster,” after feedback and correction, it’s still “ugly-cute,” but now about 20% similar.
Animation generation: Ask it to make a “wave” gesture for the character, and it can really run!
3⃣ Pit avoidance guide (underlying logic):
Token burner: This thing consumes tokens extremely fast! After testing this entire process, my 5-hour quota was burned out instantly.
Quality limit: Currently, it can only produce “white models” or simple materials, still far from commercial-grade delivery. It handles the framework, but detailed work still needs humans.
AI has lowered the barrier to 3D from “professional software” to “natural language.” Although the generated models still look like “creepy videos,” running through the process is the beginning of dimensionality reduction.
