U.S. stocks repeatedly hit new highs, with hedge fund assets reaching $5.2 trillion

The S&P 500 Index and the Nasdaq 100 Index both closed at record highs this month. Data shows that in the first quarter of this year, hedge funds attracted a total of $45 billion in capital, the highest since 2007, with industry assets reaching $5.2 trillion. Trend-following quantitative funds gained about 10% in May alone, outperforming the U.S. stock market.
