I just fell into the rabbit hole of Jen Stark and honestly can't stop scrolling through her work. This artist, who divides her time between Miami and Los Angeles, has something special: her pieces combine mathematical precision with an explosion of color that simply hypnotizes. If you see her Instagram, you immediately understand why the digital art community respects her so much.
The interesting thing is how she got into NFTs. Stark was already an established artist since 2005, working with physical materials like wood and metal, but during the pandemic, when she moved to LA, she had that click. Experimenting with new media led her to explore technology, and in 2021 she launched her first NFT called 'Multiverse.' She describes that piece as a psychedelic zoo of multi-layered shapes in a kaleidoscopic garden, and when you see it, you understand exactly what she means. It’s as if nature itself comes to life in digital animation.
What attracts me most about her work is that everything comes from nature. It sounds contradictory when you see those undulating patterns of psychedelic colors, but she explains that she visualizes the mathematical part of nature: pi, fractals, spirals. Even the colors she uses have an evolutionary purpose, like when nature uses colors to attract or warn. It’s great to see an artist who truly understands the science behind what she creates.
Later, she collaborated with Art Blocks in 2021, launching 'Vortex,' a series of 1,000 generative art NFTs where each piece spins in a kaleidoscopic way. She literally transformed her paper cut sculptures into code. Then in 2022, 'Cosmic Cuties' came out, 333 vibrant items full of those big eyes and characteristic smiles. That same year, Christie's included her in their 'Trespassing III' auction and even invited her as a speaker at their art and technology summit.
When asked for advice to other artists, her response was quite straightforward: focus on what you love, keep working, there will be people who tell you you can’t, but be stubborn and follow your path. She did just that, and now her work is accessible on multiple platforms, demonstrating that consistency in your artistic vision matters more than the media you use. Whether painting, sculpture, or NFTs, Jen Stark brings color and light wherever she creates.
