$ZEC Zcash Foundation Releases Zebra 4.4.0, Fixing Consensus Layer Security Vulnerabilities

According to the Zcash Foundation, Zebra 4.4.0 was released today, fixing multiple security vulnerabilities related to the consensus layer, and urging all node operators to upgrade immediately.
The vulnerabilities include a denial-of-service flaw that could cause permanent block discovery stoppage; sigops count errors leading to consensus splits; issues with transparent transaction signature hash processing; and risks of memory allocation amplification attacks.
The foundation stated that some of these vulnerabilities could cause Zebra nodes to accept blocks rejected by zcashd, potentially triggering chain splits.
Failure to update promptly could result in node disruption in block discovery, consensus divergence, and increased resource consumption, with no alternative mitigation measures available.
