Fed Governor Bowman: Regulators Must Consider How to Address New Technologies like Mythos
On May 2, Federal Reserve’s top bank regulatory official, Bowman, stated that regulators must consider the best ways to oversee new technologies such as Anthropic’s Mythos. ‘On one hand, this capability allows businesses to address vulnerabilities they identify themselves, thereby enhancing cybersecurity,’ Bowman said. ‘But on the other hand, if misused, it could be used to identify and exploit weaknesses.’ As Anthropic assesses protective measures for this powerful new technology, it has limited the release of its latest AI model.
