I just saw many people arguing about whether trading futures is good or not. Actually, in my opinion, futures are not something evil. The issue doesn't lie in the tool itself, but in how we use it.
The difference between trading futures and betting or gambling is that you can analyze and manage risks. I work as a full-time trader, and every day I have to find ways to make daily profits. Just holding coins and waiting for a wave isn't enough to sustain life. That's why I choose to trade futures.
The advantage of futures is that you can trade every day, with continuous profits, rather than waiting. Real money, withdrawable immediately. That's something spot trading can't offer you. Profits can be maintained and increased according to your capital size.
But the disadvantages are also clear. Trading futures can easily cause you to lose all your capital if your psychology isn't strong. Losing sleep, burning out your account is as easy as playing. The biggest problem is that if you don't manage your capital carefully, it can resemble gambling, prone to going all-in. And its stimulating nature can also be addictive.
I usually prioritize spot trading more, but only when my capital is large enough for me to sustain daily profits from futures, then switch to holding long-term. Futures are not bad; they only become bad when we treat them as a game of chance.
Many people blame high leverage, but that's a mistake. Trading futures at 5x with $1,000 is like trading at 125x with $40. The issue isn't leverage, but greed and unstable psychology. When you understand how to manage your capital, x1 or x125 is basically the same.
I want to say that trading futures is a skill, not a game. It requires discipline, analytical skills, and patience. What do you think about futures?
