Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference Opens, UN Secretary-General Warns of Rising Nuclear Risks
On April 28, local time April 27, the 11th Review Conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty opened at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. In his speech, the UN Secretary-General warned that the world is experiencing a ‘collective amnesia’ regarding the dangers of nuclear weapons, with nuclear threats rising again and the arms control system being increasingly eroded.
