I noticed interesting statistics about Iran's population and military strength comparison. Iran's population is 92.4 million people, while Israel has only 9.5 million — the difference is simply huge. But when looking at combat readiness, the picture is more complex.
Iran has approximately 49.49 million active military personnel compared to 3.95 million in Israel. Reserve forces also differ significantly: Iran has 41.54 million, while the neighbor has 3.28 million. Iran's armed forces include 1,713 tanks and 65,825 armored vehicles, while Israel has 1,300 tanks and 35,985 armored vehicles.
What’s surprising is that Iran’s population size doesn’t always directly translate into military advantage. Israel has a more advanced weapons system, although Iran leads in the number of aircraft: 551 versus 611. Interestingly, Iran’s population is growing, but military modernization requires different investments than just numbers.
In terms of submarines, Israel leads: 5 compared to 0 for Iran. Nuclear warheads are officially not acknowledged by Israel, but this is a well-known fact. Overall, the statistics show that the balance of power in the region is much more fragile than it might seem at first glance based solely on Iran’s population numbers.
