The White House writes to the U.S. Congress stating that hostilities with Iran have "ended"

The White House stated in a letter to the U.S. Congress that although U.S. military presence remains in the vicinity of Iran, hostilities with Iran have “ended.” The Trump administration said that given the ceasefire that began in early April, the war against Iran has effectively ended. This statement is related to the “60-day legal deadline,” attempting to explain why there is no need to seek congressional authorization for this. The letter also noted that although U.S. military actions against the Iranian regime have been successful and efforts to maintain lasting peace continue, the threat posed by Iran to the United States and its armed forces remains significant.
