Minnesota Passes Bill Targeting AI Tools That Generate Fake Nude Images

Minnesota lawmakers passed a bill that would ban websites and apps from offering AI tools that generate fake nude images, with civil penalties of up to $500,000 per use. The measure also lets victims seek up to triple actual damages and would take effect August 1 if Governor Tim Walz signs it.
