Bro, how many times have I seen people arrive late to a launch or airdrop because they don’t know what UTC time is? Seriously, I’ve seen people miss opportunities just because they confuse the time.

Look, everything in crypto runs on UTC, which is basically Coordinated Universal Time. It’s like the master clock for the entire world. It doesn’t change with seasons or anything weird. When you see something launching at 8:00 AM UTC, that’s not 8 in the morning in your country, right? That’s what most people don’t get.

I’m in Colombia, and this happened to me exactly. An important token was launching at 8:00 AM UTC, and I thought it was 8 in the morning here. Spoiler: it wasn’t. While I was sleeping, the price had already exploded. I quickly learned that Colombia is in UTC-5, so I had to subtract 5 hours. That means the launch was at 3:00 AM. Three in the morning. Of course, I missed it.

The thing is, each country has its difference with UTC. In Venezuela, it’s UTC-4; in Argentina, UTC-3; in Spain, UTC+2 during summer. If you want to figure out what time it is in your zone, the easiest way is to Google directly ‘X hour UTC in my country’ and that’s it. There are also world clock apps that tell you instantly.

But here’s the important part: if you don’t understand this, you’ll end up like me. Arriving late, the price already went up 200%, or worse, selling too early thinking it’s a different time. I’ve seen people lose real money because of this.

So when you see a crypto event happening at a certain UTC time, don’t take it literally. Find out your time difference, calculate it correctly, and prepare in advance. A simple timing mistake can cost you an opportunity that might not come again. Trust me, it’s not worth learning this the hard way.
