Last night it rained heavily, and I saw that some mainstream public blockchains are about to upgrade/maintain, and everyone in the group is guessing whether projects will move out. I first thought about cross-chain issues: one "from A to B," who do you really trust? Frankly, it's not just trusting the bridge itself, but also trusting the finality of the source chain/target chain, the group of validators/relayers responsible for monitoring the chain, how messages are packaged and signed, and whether the receiving contract on the target chain has any vulnerabilities... Experiences like IBC are similar to "sending a package," but the sense of security often comes from "who is proving that this package really came from over there." Before I do cross-chain transfers now, I first check: who is running the light client, how are timeout/rollback handled, and whether I can stop if something goes wrong. Otherwise, if the chain shakes, the bridge will first tighten security. Anyway, I once got stuck halfway through, woke up and it still hadn't arrived, and I just gave up.
