I just made a cross-chain transfer earlier, and before confirming, I suddenly felt a bit scared... I almost clicked on that "fastest route." To be honest, crossing a chain isn't just about trusting the bridge contract; you also have to trust the relay/validator message passing system not to go haywire. Don't let the front-end routing switch channels on you, and the receiving contract on the target chain shouldn't be written ridiculously. The most annoying part is the fees: some bridges look cheap, but in the end, they add gas on the destination chain, which just discourages me. Also, recently, the tags on on-chain data tools have been criticized for being laggy or misleading. Now, I don't really trust "official certification" or "high-reputation addresses" anymore... Anyway, if I can use IBC, I use IBC; if not, I’d rather go slower, double-check a few times, because saving money comes second to staying safe.
