CryptoWorld Network reports that Pi Network has announced it will activate Protocol 23 on May 11. This upgrade will introduce full smart contract functionality to the Pi blockchain, marking the network’s transition from a mobile mining project to a programmable platform that supports decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and the tokenization of real-world assets. The activation date for Protocol 23 has been moved up from May 18 to May 11. As part of the Pi accelerated upgrade cycle, it is scheduled after the 2026 Miami Consensus Conference, at which time two co-founders will speak on May 6 and 7. Protocol 22 removed all non-compliant nodes that failed to upgrade, ensuring network synchronization and laying the foundation required for smart contract execution. Protocol 23 allows developers to write and deploy programmable contracts on the Pi mainnet, unlocking decentralized applications, token issuance, and a native decentralized exchange.

The purpose of storytelling is to exploit retail investors; even if it’s upgraded to v100 with no real applications, it’s still pointless.
