When the funding rate hits an extreme, the group immediately starts saying "I want to take the opposite side," sounding like betting against a tsunami. Honestly, you're betting whether the emotion will crash first or you'll be the one kicked out first. I usually don't rush to be a hero; first, I watch to see if the volatility is starting to go crazy: if the order book is thin, with large slippage, even taking the opposite side might lose to execution details, and those MEV guys are not to be underestimated... At this point, I prefer to hide a bit, reduce my position, and wait until the funding rate returns to a "breathable" range. By the way, I want to criticize that recent social mining/fan token scheme, "attention is mining" sounds pretty cool, but in reality, it’s more like turning everyone’s emotional funding rate into a product—who gets hyped up pays the tax. Anyway, I’m a coward; I’d rather miss out than be carried away. I’m off to work.
