I noticed an interesting trend – in the modern world, a wealthy person is almost synonymous with a technologist. Looking at the data from the beginning of this year, I see that the list of the world's wealthiest people has completely reshaped under the influence of AI and space technologies.
Elon Musk has really pulled ahead to an unbelievable extent. 726 billion dollars is just a different level. No one has seen anything like this before. SpaceX has skyrocketed in valuation, Starlink is growing, Tesla maintains its position, and Neuralink adds investment interest. Overall, when you look at this wealthy individual, you realize that he is no longer just a businessman but an entire ecosystem.
Page and Brin from Google hold the second and fourth positions respectively – 270 and 251 billion. Alphabet dominates in AI, and this is reflected in their market capitalization. Bezos is in third place with 255 billion, and AWS still generates significant revenue.
The list then looks approximately like this: Ellison with 248 billion, Zuckerberg with 233, Arnault with 205, Ballmer with 170, Huang with 156, and Buffett rounds out the top 10 with 151 billion. Each of them is a wealthy person in their own way – some in technology, one in luxury, one in investments.
What’s interesting is that this is not just inflation of wealth. It’s about a real redistribution of capital in favor of technological leaders. Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, semiconductors, space – these are what are creating fortunes now. American companies clearly dominate, and the founders who held onto their shares simply won the lottery of history.
Honestly, looking at this dynamic, it becomes clear why the crypto sector is developing so actively – people are seeking new points of growth when they see such concentration of wealth in traditional technologies.
