There are reports that the U.S. government made a profit from a single stock transaction that exceeds the annual earnings of many countries.
On August 22, 2025, the Donald Trump administration bought Intel shares at $20.47, after the company's stock price had dropped sharply by 74%.
They used the remaining funds from the CHIPS and Science Act to invest $8.9 billion, purchasing 433 million shares.
The current stock price is approximately $83.67, resulting in a total profit of about $33.6 billion.
