Brazil Tightens Crypto Rules But Not a Ban

This is control, not prohibition.
Central Bank of Brazil has banned virtual assets from settlement inside regulated eFX cross border rails.
Crypto isn’t banned.
Transfers still allowed.
But You can’t use it inside supervised payment infrastructure.

Why now?
Stablecoins dominate ≈ 90% of crypto flows.
That’s too big to ignore.
So the move is clear:
Limit crypto inside regulated pipes.
Keep oversight where it matters most.

This is a shift in strategy:
Not stopping crypto
But controlling where it interacts with the system.
For markets, this matters.
Stablecoins = liquidity layer.
Restrictions = friction in flows.
Expect more of this globally.

Is this regulation or containment?
