Recently, I've seen a bunch of social mining and points tasks again, constantly asking you to check in daily, post and interact, invite people into groups... Basically, it's just using your time to pile up their data. The incentive system on testnets is even more exaggerated; everyone is betting on whether the mainnet will issue tokens. When the points expectations get high, it feels like if you don't do the tasks, you'll miss out on life.

But after participating in a few DAOs, I'm a bit fed up: badges and identities are often just used to filter people and package KPIs. If I were to vote, I only care about how incentives are distributed, who is executing them, and whether they can actually do it—don't talk to me about ideals.

What I fear most isn't actually missing opportunities, but realizing that after handing over a whole chunk of time, I haven't left anything behind. Anyway, I now prefer to do fewer tasks, save some energy to look at proposals that involve "how to distribute, who will do it, and who is responsible after distribution."
