Ever scrolled through crypto or business posts and wondered what people mean by 1K, 1M, or 1B? I used to get confused too, so let me break this down the way I wish someone explained it to me.
So here's the deal - K stands for kilo, which is just a fancy way of saying thousand. When you see 1K, that's 1,000. Pretty straightforward. 10K is 10,000, and 100K is 100,000. You'll see this everywhere, especially in crypto when people talk about price targets.
Now, 1 Million is basically a thousand thousands put together. That's 1,000,000. If someone's talking about 5M volume or 10M followers, they mean millions. Once you get this pattern, everything else clicks.
Then there's 1 Billion - that's where things get wild. A billion is a thousand millions. 1B = 1,000,000,000. You'll mostly see this when discussing market caps or major financial numbers.
Quick way to remember it:
1K = 1,000
1M = 1,000,000
1B = 1,000,000,000
Honestly, once you lock these in your head, reading financial news, tracking crypto charts, or following YouTube metrics becomes so much easier. Whether you're into trading, content creation, or just trying to understand market discussions, knowing these terms is kind of essential.
I've been tracking some interesting tokens lately on Gate - WCT, PNUT, and MASK have been on my radar. If you're looking to understand how these numbers play out in real trading, definitely check them out and see how volume and market cap actually work in practice.
