Bessent Says Powell Staying as Fed Governor Would Break Tradition
U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent said it would be unusual for outgoing Federal Reserve Chair Powell to remain as a Fed governor. Bessent said such a move would run against tradition. Bessent also said Kevin Warsh would bring a fresh perspective and clearer accountability to the Federal Reserve.
