So I just stumbled on this absolutely wild story that I can't stop thinking about. There's this Romanian guy named Vasile Gorgos who basically vanished without a trace back in 1991. He was 63 at the time, heading out on what seemed like a normal business trip, and just... disappeared. His family went through all the grief, held memorials, the whole thing. Everyone assumed he was gone for good.
Then here's where it gets insane. Thirty years later, in August 2021, Vasile Gorgos just shows up at home. But he's 93 now. Still wearing the exact same clothes from when he left. Still carrying that original train ticket from 1991. Doctors checked him out and physically he's in decent shape for his age, but his memory is completely shot. When they asked him where he'd been for three decades, his answer was just... "at home." That's it. No explanation, no missing time, nothing.
I genuinely don't know what to make of this. The whole thing feels like it shouldn't be possible. How does someone vanish for 30 years and come back unchanged, in the same clothes, with the same ticket? Vasile Gorgos's case raises more questions than it answers. Was it some kind of time distortion? Memory manipulation? Or is there something else entirely we're not understanding? The fact that he seemed completely convinced he'd just been home the whole time is the part that really gets me. What do you think happened?
