These past two days, the group chat has been flooded again with forwards like “stablecoins are about to be regulated,” “reserve audits aren’t transparent,” and “it’s going to de-peg—quick, run.” To put it plainly, your attention is being led around by someone else, and your heartbeat keeps changing gears with whatever’s trending. I used to feel the itch too—if someone shouted something, I’d go chase it—but it basically meant buying at the peak of emotion and selling amid even greater anxiety.

Later, I simply lowered my expectations: I don’t count on catching every wave, and I don’t fantasize about being faster than the news. Now it feels more like watching my wallet write a diary—who always moves in the middle of the night, who only adds on when rumors start to spread, who panics and pulls out… After seeing too much, I end up calmer. The faster the hot topics rotate, the slower I move. If I don’t have to, I won’t—so that’s it for now.
