You know, I recently came across an interesting story about Kimball Musk, and it's worth sharing. When everyone discusses Elon, his brother stays in the shadows, although he's not at all a boring person.
Kimball Musk is a 52-year-old billionaire who clearly lives by his own rules. A few days ago, he posted a rather sharp comment on X about Trump and his tariff policies, criticizing the introduction of taxes on American consumers. An interesting point: Kimball also criticized his brother Elon, even though they are not actually in conflict. The brothers simply love each other deeply, despite their different views.
Kimball's wealth is estimated at around 700 million dollars, mainly thanks to his stake in Tesla. But what really sets him apart in the crowd is the cowboy hat he wears all the time. It's his signature, his style.
By the way, both brothers have a striking resemblance: born in Pretoria, same square jaw, straight nose, green eyes. They hold South African, Canadian, and American citizenship. Their sister Tosca (50 years old) is also part of this story. The family experienced violence in childhood, which led their mother Maya to divorce in 1979, and later emigrate to Canada and then the USA.
You know what's interesting? Both brothers started together with Zip2 — a startup for internet business software. They sold it to Compaq in 1999 for 307 million dollars. That was their first serious success. But while Elon moved further into space and electric vehicles, Kimball Musk focused more on charity and environmental projects. An interesting divergence in the paths of these two brothers, isn’t it?
