I almost had a heart attack just now... I was transferring a little money to a friend, chose the wrong chain, and even copied the address from last time. The moment I clicked confirm, my mind went blank. Luckily, the wallet popup prompted "Target chain mismatch" and stopped me.
To put it simply, after using a multi-chain wallet for a long time, asset fragmentation isn't just "tidy up a bit," it's a daily battle of outsmarting my own clumsy fingers.
My current dumb method: fix three commonly used chains, and treat other chains as "temporary workers";
Keep just enough on each chain to pay transaction fees, and try to consolidate the rest into a main wallet, with address notes written in plain language (like "Cold Wallet - Do Not Move" or "Meme Image Storage - Small Position").
Before transferring, I double-check: chain, the first and last four characters of the address, whether I copied it from chat history... Anyway, I’d rather be ten seconds slow.
Lately, I see everyone complaining that miners/validators are eating too well, and MEV sorting looks like a lottery. I really resonate with that: while you're busy avoiding wrong chain transfers, they just shift the sorting order, and a slip of the finger becomes your tuition fee.
Forget it, I’ll just make sure my wallet doesn’t turn into a "treasure hunt game" first.
