These days I've been looking into IBC and various "messaging/bridge" solutions, basically questioning who to trust in cross-chain transactions: the finality of the chain itself, the verification method of the other chain (light clients or multi-signature/oracles), whether the relayer/forwarder will go offline or act maliciously, plus the implementation details of the smart contract. Any corner cut can turn into a "trust black hole." After a previous failure, I've become a bit paranoid, so I’ve set up monitoring and backups, and I prefer cross-chain solutions that clearly explain the trust assumptions. On the macro side, discussions about rate cuts and the dollar index are heating up again. When risk assets move together, it's easier to overlook the underlying risks... Anyway, I still believe in the narrative of decentralization, but I don’t want to argue—just taking it slow.
