Lately, I keep hearing people talk about modularization and the DA layer narrative—developers are as excited as if it’s New Year, while users are basically completely lost, and I’m pretty much the same… Anyway, don’t let the jargon scare you. I’ll stick to one main thread: whether what you send out can actually be “seen and saved by everyone” (data availability), and who is responsible for queuing up and how the ordering is determined—what the queue rules are (ordering), and finally when this is considered “fully settled once and for all” (finality). In plain terms: don’t rush to ask how fast or how cool the chain is. First ask, “Is there a record? Whose view does the order follow? And how long until it becomes the final version?”

All of it sounds like tuning a radio to the right frequency, or lining up to buy milk tea: the signal has to go out, the line has to be clear and the rules for it have to be understood, and only when you actually get your cup does it count. With all these narratives being pushed, I might get brainwashed too—but once I return to these three questions, my heart doesn’t feel nearly as panicked.
