Been reading up on Mike Tyson's financial journey lately and honestly, it's one of the wildest wealth stories in sports. The guy literally made over $400 million from boxing alone - we're talking $30 million per fight at his peak in the 90s. Absolutely insane money. But here's where it gets crazy: he blew through basically all of it. Poor decisions, bad management, legal issues, the usual suspects when young athletes suddenly have that much cash. By 2003 he was filing for bankruptcy despite being a multi-hundred millionaire just years before.
What's interesting though is how he actually managed to rebuild. Instead of fading away like so many fighters do, Tyson pivoted hard. The Hangover role was huge for him, his one-man show did really well, endorsement deals kept rolling in. Then he got into the cannabis space with Tyson 2.0, and that's apparently become a serious operation - we're talking potentially over $100 million in company value.
That 2020 exhibition with Roy Jones Jr. was another smart move too. Made like $80 million from that one night. Pretty wild for someone who was supposed to be done.
So where's he at now in terms of Mike Tyson net worth for 2025? Estimates put him around $10 million, which sounds low until you remember where he was after bankruptcy. He's living more quietly in Vegas these days, focused on the cannabis business rather than chasing that old flashy lifestyle. The whole arc is honestly a pretty solid redemption story - from financial disaster to actually building sustainable businesses. Not bad for someone everyone wrote off.
