I used to obsess over the mainnet, thinking that "security" was worth that little gas, but after a few transfers, I saw that the fees were more expensive than a meal, and I was directly discouraged. Now I categorize tasks: small, frequent transactions go to L2 for a smooth experience and to get the steps right first; large, long-term holdings stay on the mainnet as "heavy bench presses," with less movement but each confirmation done properly. Basically, the compromise is: don’t risk getting caught in phishing sites or signing things blindly just to save gas; the savings aren’t worth a single loss.

Recently, I’ve seen some places tighten and loosen regulations on taxes and compliance, and everyone gets anxious about deposits and withdrawals, and the more anxious, the quicker they act. I’ve actually slowed down now: before transferring, I rehearse a small transaction, check the address whitelist, read the signature popup… the process is like a workout, doing it right before adding weight. That’s it for now, no need to rush.
