⚡ U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth: Bitcoin is a matter of U.S. national security.

➠ Over the past decade, Bitcoin has evolved from a marginal asset to a tool that is now discussed not only by investors but also by the military.

➠ Iran, North Korea, and China are using or accumulating Bitcoin for strategic purposes: from cyber operations to reserves and circumventing sanctions.

➠ Bitcoin can be a tool for projecting power. It is no longer just an asset for investors but a technology that influences digital infrastructure and global transactions.

➠ I have long supported BTC and the crypto industry. Within the agency, work is already underway on initiatives that allow us to harness this potential or counter threats.

➠ Most of these efforts are classified, but they give the U.S. leverage in various scenarios and help prevent China from gaining a strategic advantage.
