Democratic senators pressure it over allegations that Tether bribed the U.S. Secretary of Commerce

Mars Finance reports that Democratic Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ron Wyden are pressuring both parties over allegations that Tether bribed U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. According to reports, Tether provided undisclosed loans to a trust fund benefiting Howard Lutnick’s children, and Cantor Fitzgerald, where Lutnick previously served, was also Tether’s reserve asset management firm. Elizabeth Warren and Ron Wyden also pointed out that the previously passed “Genius Act” benefited Tether, which had lobbied in support of the bill, suggesting possible quid pro quo arrangements.
