Steak 'n Shake Says Bitcoin Payments Cut Processing Fees 50%, Could Save $6M a Year
Steak 'n Shake said Bitcoin payments cut processing fees by 50% and could save about $6 million a year if all credit card users switched. Chief MAHA Officer Michael Boes said the chain launched Bitcoin payments on May 16, 2025 through the Lightning Network. Boes said all Bitcoin received from customers goes into a strategic Bitcoin reserve that has grown to $10 million.
