Someone asked me, "The hot topics change so quickly, isn't it impossible to keep up?"… I actually feel a bit timid now. The attention economy is just using your eyes as fuel; when trending topics change, it’s like boiling water, and jumping in a second too late is basically wiping the table for the person ahead. Recently, I’ve been talking about rate cut expectations, the US dollar index moving in tandem with risk assets—basically, macro can also act as an emotion amplifier. When it heats up, I get itchy, but I first cut my positions smaller and set a "cooling-off period" for myself, then check again after a while to see if I still want to go in. Don’t chase after hot trends; first see if it’s hot or not. Being able to do half of it is already a win.
